Samantha ‘Sammy’ Mann has been chartered and practising physiotherapy for 16 years and worked all around the West Midlands in a range of acute inpatient and private outpatient hospital and community settings.
In her earlier years, Sammy learnt her craft across a rich array of wards including surgery, respiratory, cardiology, endocrine, renal, colorectal, oncology, elderly, mental health, orthopaedics, outpatients and Intensive care.
In 2018 Sammy joined the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Co-led a large progressive surgical team. Here she specialised in liver transplantation, pancreatic cancer and new amputees, alongside other complex surgical work including colorectal, vascular and maxillo-facial . This role further developed her expertise in preoperative rehab (PREHAB), chronic pain, fatigue and issues arising from immobility, weakness and loss of balance.
Following maternity leave in 2020, Sammy decided post COVID pandemic to embark on an exciting move into outpatients (also known as musculoskeletal physiotherapy). Sammy currently works in private healthcare for both Nuffield and Ramsay hospitals. Within outpatients Sammy treats a range of conditions throughout the body, and with varying degrees of pain, disability and need. This includes aches, pains, strains, sprains and fractures of the neck, back, knees, hips, ankles, shoulders, elbows and hands.
Sammy also delivers high quality care to pre and post-surgical patients admitted to the care of the ward, often rehabbing them in outpatients thereafter.
Sammy has a deep understanding of the needs of patients presenting with a multitude of health needs that stem from pain, immobility, weakness, balance problems, chest and breathing issues, anxiety and depression.
Sammy is utterly passionate about people, and their health and well-being. She goes out of her way to understand the presenting needs and goals of her patients, offering robust assessment and achievable goal setting. Sammy adores working with people, offering support and expertise to support everyone to flourish!
